Hello everyone and welcome to episode 82 of the Still Spinning Podcast. On today's episode we discuss uninvited kids, yummy snacks, food robots and a lack of chain restaurants. First off, let's talk about uninvited kids. If you planned an event, invited your BIL and SIL and they decided to bring their grandchildren, what would you do? Is it ok to just drag the kids along wherever you go? Do kids like star gazing? So many questions and we have some thoughts.

Dan loves ketchup chips. There, I said it. But recently something has hit the market that he likes even more. What could it be? A delicious snack that has ALL the flavors? I am intrigued and would love to hear more.

Chicago has a food robot delivery system! This leads to a lot of questions and some opinions from our hosts. What is to stop someone from just stealing the robot?? Dan has seen these little guys in action in Madison but Nicole has never seen such a thing. Dan explains how this is only a step in the removal of humans from the workforce.

And finally, there is a state capital in the US that does not have a Starbucks OR a McDonald's!! Who knew?? Find out what state it is and why they do not exist there. Also find out how many states Dan has NOT been too and see if Nicole can guess them all.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! Welcome to episode of 81 of The Still Spinning Podcast. We missed you all during our break, we hope you all had a nice holiday season.

Dan kicks off by sharing a story of a "unique" request he got from someone trying to hire him to do comedy. It is a doozy and a request he had never heard before, and he has been in the field for over 30 years!

Remember writing checks? Well younger generations do NOT and this leads to a fun interaction with Dan and his nephew. And quite honestly, the nephew has some valid points about checks and how odd they are. We discuss.

The work-from-home days are ending for a lot of people. The story in today's episode is about Amazon and their employees going back for 5 days a week. We talk about work from home, the pandemic and so much more in this segment. And we do not necessarily agree on a few things like productivity. Whose side are YOU on?

And lastly, there is a story of a lonely boat, washed ashore in Milwaukee. Do we talk about how it got there? Sort of. Is the point about that? NO. It is about these people who own a BOAT looking for handouts from the average person to get it unstuck and they started a gofundme. THE NERVE.

We kick things off with a story that affects us all - the FBI came out and said we should STOP using our phones to text. WTH did we do before texting?? They do offer some "safer" options. Tune in to hear what they are. Sorry, this might be a bit educational for you all.

Is it ok to walk around your house barefoot?? NO is the short answer. One of the hosts does walk around without shoes in the house and one does. Think you know which is which??

The new speed record was broken in Iowa and it is SCARY. We discuss the driving habits of both Dan and Nicole and they share some speeding stories of their own.

And finally, Chris Rock storms out of a private party where he was performing. Why, you may ask? Well we discuss the likely reason and share some thoughts/insight into our own performing and how we handle things like this.

Hello everyone and welcome to episode 78 of the Still Spinning Podcast.

In today's episode we kick things off by talking about a Midwest winter common occurrence, lake effect snow. If you do not know that that is, you will learn about it (so sorry about that) and hear about some areas of the US that already have FOUR FEET of snow because of it. Some personal stories of a huge blizzard in Chicago and a drive across Michigan during a massive whiteout are part of the package today as well. Makes you feel cold!

If you give a child (not your own) your phone to play with and it gets broken, who should pay to have it fixed? That is topic number 2 on today's episode. There is always more to the story and Dan and Nicole try to uncover some of the underlying issues in the original story but the verdict remains the same. Tune in to hear what it is.

Hello and welcome everyone to week 77 of the Still Spinning Podcast. Just an FYI, the next month or so is going to be a little bonkers with our schedules so keep your ears open for when/where our live stream(s) will be.

We kick things off and spend most of this episode with a story about one of our hosts and a ride-share that gets into an accident. First off, Dan did not know about all the options you have when you get a ride share (like quiet, temperature control etc.) and as the story illustrates, you do not always get what you pay for. So what happens with a ride share collides with a taxi on the highway?! Guess you will need to tune in to hear the details.

Dan's new dog is so great but there seems to be a language barrier. We hear all about it, how he discovered it and the training plan. This leads us down the path of police dogs and how they are trained, as well as how many languages they speak!

Hello everyone and welcome to episode #76 of the Still Spinning Podcast.

Dan kicks us off with a rant about "today's" music and how much he hates it. While Nicole can relate, it does make us all wonder if everyone of a certain age has the same reaction to these kinds of things. Nicole gives a brief recap on her trip to New Orleans which includes not one but TWO stories about inappropriate touching. Dan is just happy she made it home safe, even though she did not go to the ONE place in the city he asked her to go to (it has to do with Elvis).

There is a new movie coming out based on the Broadway hit Wicked, and there is merchandise galore. But Mattel is in some trouble for not fact-checking the movie's website address and instead releasing a line of dolls with a website to a porn production company's site. You can only imagine the uproar! That box has been recalled but is sure to be a collector's item.

They are proposing a new building in Manhattan and there are some ISSUES. The building is called Big Bend and you have to see it to believe it. Dan has a first thought about the building that honestly could get him in a lot of trouble. Nicole, along with folks in the chat, thinks it looks like the most terrifying building EVER and would never even think to enter it.

And last, in 2024 there are some jobs that are obsolete. Some you would expect, some Nicole and Dan had not really thought about. But they discuss them all!

Hello everyone and welcome to episode 75 of the Still Spinning Podcast. On tonight's episode we talk about the end of October which means it is Halloween season! Dan shares his decorating and plan for the big night and Nicole shares a list of the most popular candy. Folks in the chat share their favorite candy as well and we reminisce about the days of razor blades in apples.

A few airline stories make the podcast this week. The first is a new process American Airlines is trying out to prevent people from boarding in a group they are not assigned to. Dan and Nicole are all for the literal bells and whistles of this new program. At an airport in New Zealand, there is a crack down on how long people can HUG before they are asked to take it to the parking lot. It is pretty funny.

Finally, the holiday season is upon us, and that is the gift of giving, but a story about an ANTI gift list caught our attention, and we chatted about it. Oh and also Dan has a new dog! We meet Charlie and get some real good pets.
